1st European Forum on Participation and Technology
The 1st European Forum on Participation and Technology will take place 15 - 16 October 2009 along with Rehacare International in Düsseldorf, Room 225, First Floor, North Entrance (Entrance Fee for Rehacare)
The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities puts emphasis on the use of assistive technology and universal design (Design-for-all). The European Forum on Participation and Technology (EU-PaTe) will take this up and offer a platform for interested end-users and experts from science, industry, and public sector for exchange, discussion, and workshops. The main focus will be on how technology can be used to facilitate participation and avoid barriers to inclusion. It follows an interactive format rather than a sequence of scientific presentations. Projects and initiatives from Europe will enter in exchange and discussion about their current work and future plans. The connection with "Rehacare International" the world's leading exhibition on technical aids for people with disabilities creates additional benefit and synergy for the attendees.
